EMERGENCY UPDATE: Due to predictions of extensive flooding in the Tulsa area, we moved the May flight up, and flew the pets to safety on Saturday, 5/18!
Your impact was doubled! A very generous woman and animal lover from southwest Missouri, matched the first $10,000 of donations - to fly twice the # of pets to freedom!
May’s Freekibble Flight to Freedom saved 200+ dogs, cats, puppies & kittens from the threat of being euthanized!
On May 18th, a flight left from Tulsa, Oklahoma, carrying over 200 healthy, loving dogs & cats. All were rescued from overcrowded, high–risk shelters and flown to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and Everett, WA — where almost all of them are already adopted into loving families!
Most of these dogs and cats wouldn't have survived if they didn't make this flight.
June’s Flight to Freedom is scheduled for June 15th, and will fly 180 Chihuahuas from California to Minneapolis!
You can help! Just $5 helps cover the fuel costs of flying a pet 125 miles towards safety.
Seven of the 200+ Pet Passengers on the Flight to Freedom
In shelters across the country, highly adoptable dogs & cats are euthanized just because the shelters are overcrowded. In other areas, shelters have a shortage of adoptable pets. Freekibble Flights to Freedom works with Wings of Rescue to save homeless pets by flying them to shelters where they're immediately adopted.
Wings of Rescue's mission is to fly rescue animals in overpopulated shelters to a network of no-kill shelters from which they will be quickly adopted into loving homes. Last year alone Wings of Rescue transported nearly 10,000 pets to no-kill shelters who likely would have been euthanized within the next 48 hours. The average length of stay in these new shelters for these pets was less than 3 1/2 days before they were adopted. Wings of Rescue is in urgent need of your support to maintain their operations. With your help these animals can have a second chance at life and find their forever and loving homes!
Our partner, Halo Pets will be donating 10,000 bowls of their high quality food to the shelters receiving the animals.
