Mama is a love-able young dog who was surrendered with her six month old son by their owner. The owner lived in an apartment where they did not allow pets, so she had to surrender them to the Humane Society. After a vet checkup, Mama was discovered to have heartworms, which can be fatal if not treated.

Mama needs to receive Doxycycline two times a day for a month, multiple injections of Immiticide, and then she needs to recover for a few months.

After Mama has her treatments, she will be heartworm free, and she will be ready for adoption and have the chance at having a forever home. She is a very gentle dog with a family-friendly personality. She will make a great companion for someone once she's healed, but we can't do it without you.

You can help Mama gain a healthy heart. Your gift will go directly to provide Mama the medication and treatment she needs to overcome heartworms. She is such a sweet little girl and deserves to have her disease treated.

Help us meet our goal of $1,500 to help Mama gain a healthy heart. Funds raised over the goal amount will go to help provide medical care to other shelter pets.

Herber Springs Humane Society's mission is to shelter homeless animals, place them in permanent homes, and promote responsible pet ownership through education and sterilization.
